Mas Palomas is a large property of about 365 Has approximate extension (902 ac). It is located in the municipalities of Castellfollit del Boix (for the most part, almost 88%) and Rajadell. 45 minutes drive from Barcelona city.

Access to Farm Mas Palomas is not difficult. Any type of vehicle will take you to the main house known as Mas Palomas, which gives its name to the farm, from Castellfollit del Boix through a good forest track. The distance from the entrance to the property is 3.7 Km from the village of Castellfollit, in total, about 4.7 Km to the main house of the farm (just over 1 Km inside it).
For years Farm Mas Palomas was used for agricultural and livestock maintenance so the big house is surrounded by a number of modern buildings (mid-twentieth century) in various states of preservation. The tower-house (292 m2) is from early XVII (dated in stone from 1.610) with water, electricity and telephone. It needs refurbishing. The tower-house is surrounded by service buildings (886 m2 of houses, silos, machinery garage, stables...). Some of these constructions require refurbishing. Farm Mas Palomas has 12 buildings which once housed people. The one that remains in good condition is the main house (Mas Palomas), the oldest of them all, the highest and most noble building. The importance of traditional buildings in a rural farm is that, according to the Catalan law, constitutes the only possibility of urban intervention within the rustic territories: it allows reconstruction as the old plant.

GENERAL LOCATION
The Bages region is one of the largest in Catalonia. It extends over a part of the province of Barcelona. Its capital is Manresa and the other major city located in the environment is Igualada. Despite the proximity to the capital (Barcelona) Bages has remained intact in many of its original traits: the medieval physiognomy of its small villages, agricultural and civil architecture.

The extensive mosaic rain fed production of cereals, olive and almond trees and vegetables gardens where moisture permits with extensive pine forests and, occasional oaks with well-developed undergrowth with mediterranean replacement shrub lands extensions.

The road network consists of narrow local roads and public roads of different magnitude connecting villages and farmhouses with the backbone communications of the region, the E-25 highway and the railway line that lead to Manresa, capital of the Bages, and then to Barcelona and the coast.
It is, therefore, an extensive farm predominantly sloping areas related to evolution scrub forest, forest growth and mature forest physiognomically. Its climate is Mediterranean with mild traits of continentality and their average annual rainfall is about 600 l/m2, suffering summer drought, characteristic of this type of climate.
The zones with flatter slopes traditionally were used for rain fed cereal production for livestock and human consumption, exceeding in good time a 100 hectares cultivated.
Almost the entire territory was seized as pasture for sheep: both the mature forest as their intermediate states of evolution (pasture grasses and woody shrubs) offer herbaceous and woody species usable by wildlife (hunting) and domestic livestock, exploited in semi-extensive regime for centuries.
